One of the resident “Top Chef” contestants talks about why D.C. has become a great food town and his favorite places to hang out in the city.
Turns out the man with the ubiquitous hat can really cook. Witness Spike Mendelsohn's appearance on Bravo's"Top Chef" and last season's "Top Chef All Stars."
We visited the laidback chef and businessman in his Capitol Hill comfort zone, Good Stuff Eaterywhich is a family operation, with Mendelsohn's mother, father and sister joining him in the cause to keep Washingtonians and visitors well fed and smiling…which will always happen when "drinking" a marshmallow shake.
Yes, we videotaped Mendelsohn preparing one of those shakes. We dare you not to order one.
The super chef, originally from New York, has adopted D.C. as his hometown. He dishes on the hot food scene here, as well as talks about his favorite places to visit when he's not in the kitchen.
Wish a scent came with these gorgeous images…
